Can we also offer lord Shiva,...?

Kannapa, used to offer meat to lord shiva, this pleased him a lot, why can't we give a try?,..i know i'm not that great devotee, but i want 2 please Him faster! I was waiting past 2 years, when i read vishnu Purana, it said if one prays 1 day and 1 night continuously, he'll get liberated! I don't feel anything changed, i want to know if, i offer shiva will i get in trouble?,..
