What happened to Santa Claus?

If you notice, in each country Santa Claus, St. Nicholas, Father Christmas, Pere Noel...they all look a little different and have slightly different customs. The thing that remains the same is that he is a good person who gives freely of himself, and rewards those who are good, and loves all children.
