Why do broadleaf plants wilt faster than narrow leaf plants?

Broad leaves, by definition, have more surface area (and probably volume) than narrow leaves, so they (1) require more water, all else being equal, to stay turgid, and (2) have more opportunities to lose moisture to the surrounding air.
